SANKO University Sani Konukoglu Training and Research Hospital

Experiencing the difficulties due to the lack of a modern healthcare center equipped with modern technology in Gaziantep, Sani Konukoglu commenced establishment of SANKO University Hospital in 1993 and made efforts until he passed away in 1994. Having started to operate in August 1996 by his family who made the dream of Sani Konukoglu a reality, SANKO University Hospital is currently one of the largest healthcare institutions introduced to our country.

 

The initiatives commenced by the hospital, which adopts a contemporary hospital management approach, to obtain the Quality System Certificate of TS-EN ISO-9001 were finalized in April 1997, and the hospital became the sixth hospital in Turkey to be certified TSE and the fourth among private hospitals. SANKO University Hospital, which is the first hospital in our country to receive the TS 13811 Hygiene and Sanitation Management Systems Certificate from the Turkish Standards Institute (TSI) in 2020, also obtained TS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certificate, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate, and TS-ISO-EN 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificate.

 

Having become the spot for high quality in healthcare, the hospital applies expert diagnosis and treatment methods with the Emergency Service, Biochemistry, Pathology and Medical / Clinical Microbiology Laboratories, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiovascular Surgery, Organ Transplantation Centre, Nephrology, Hematology, Therapeutic Apheresis Centre, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Medical Oncology, Pediatric Hematology, Cardiology, Chest Diseases, Urology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Infectious Diseases, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Eye Diseases, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Thoracic Surgery, Dermatology, Sleep Laboratory, Obesity Centre, Peritoneal Dialysis Centre, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre, GETAT (Traditional and Complementary Medicine) and Assisted Reproductive Therapy (In vitro fertilization) Centre.

 

The construction of the additional building for the hospital was started in 2006 due to the intense demand and completed in November 2009, and on an operation area of 60,750 square meter, a total bed capacity of 114 was reached in the Coronary Intensive Care, Cardiovascular Intensive Care, Surgical Intensive Care, and Neonatal Intensive Care (36 fixed incubators, 3 transport incubators) units, each of which is under the supervision of doctors and nurses 24 hours a day and where all kinds of life support are provided and the vital functions of the patients are constantly monitored.

 

The Emergency Service features 6 examination rooms, 15 observation beds, 2 fully equipped intervention rooms, 1 resuscitation room, Gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, and Traumatology examination rooms.

 

The hospital has the capacity to respond to every need of patients and their companions with 600 beds in two buildings, 2 fully equipped ambulances, 1000 personnel, who are specialized in their relevant fields, 120 polyclinic rooms, waiting rooms, a hall where all kinds of national and international meetings can be held, a cafeteria, an indoor car parking area for 225 vehicles in the basement and an outdoor car parking area for 50 vehicles.

 

Offering service to the local community since 1996, SANKO University Hospital has crowned its service quality by concluding a Collaboration and Joint Tenancy Protocol (Affiliation) with SANKO University, which was established in 2013, and has become a training and research centre for SANKO University.
